Trinkets and Souls
Hello reader! We're about a month out from DD56, and I wanted to push some new features and fixes I've been working on.
The bulk of this devlog will be about new systems, then a changelog.
- Talismans
These are new items that will effect combat just by being in a unit's inventory. They have different effects, that range from small combat boosts, large trade offs, or difficult conditions with powerful rewards. These are meant to add some more "roguelite" spice to the game, and give players more customization items. They also serve as a good punishment for having a unit dying because now...
- Revival
Units can be revived! Every quest map there will now be a "campfire" location where players can revive units, and shop for new items. This will cost gold, and units will drop and talisman or non-iron weapons they are holding. This is meant as another roguelite mechanics, and is also responding to feedback that it was too difficult to survive losing units. Now you can revive them, with the cost of not getting new gear.
